The “Show Me City” once again will participate in National Night Out celebrations on Tuesday, Oct. 1, with citizens, elected officials, first responders and stakeholders partnering to promote our safe streets.
The City’s proactive public safety initiatives will be a central theme citywide as neighborhoods host block parties to showcase their support of local firefighters and police officers.

Certified Car Seat Technicians will be on location to inspect car seats and assist and instruct caregivers on how to properly install the car seat(s) in the vehicle and properly secure the child(ren) in their car seats.

The Board consists of 13 members appointed by City Council for staggered two year terms. This Board serves in an advisory capacity to City Council on parks and recreation policy matters. Legendary masters of funk, S.O.S Band, will headline a live concert performance with chart-topping hits like “Take Your Time (Do It Right)” and famed DJ Kid Capri will also take the stage performing live on the 1s and 2s. They are scheduled for the main stage showcase from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This year will also feature live storytelling on the City’s outdoor Community Center Performance Plaza from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and other free festivities will include bounce houses, public safety apparatus, face painting and event booths. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site.

The fall session features a Beginner Archery class focusing on archery safety, equipment, shooting form, and shooting etiquette and a Explore Archery class that will focus on improving accuracy and consistency through a variety of activities and games. Participants must complete the beginner archery class through Missouri City Parks & Recreation in order to register for the Explore Archery class.
